Ruth "Ruthie" Morales Gettle

Ruth “Ruthie” Morales Gettle passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the age of 76. She was the cherished wife of the late Gerald A. Gettle Sr. Loving mother of Gerald A. Gettle Jr. (Nicole), Michael A. Gettle and Lori M. Gettle. Daughter of the late Joseph “Jr.” Morales and Evelyn “Bebé” Serigne Morales. Sister of Barbara Jean Jackson (Tommy) and the late Maureen “Renie” Vasquez. Proud grandmother of Elizabeth Daussin (Alan), Trey Gettle, Ashley Hughes (Zach) and Jackson Gettle. Great Grandmother of Zachary Daussin, Barrett Daussin, Abigail Hughes and Hazel Hughes.

Ruthie was born on July 25, 1948, in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish.

Ruthie dedicated her life to creating a loving home filled with warmth and kindness, she found great joy in caring for her family and friends. Ruthie also loved caring for her backyard chickens and cat, who was never far from her lap or side. Above all, Ruthie treasured time with her loved ones, whether hosting family parties, laughing at late night poker games with the family, or offering a listening ear, she soaked in every moment she could with them. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will be private.
