In loving memory of an extraordinary man, Salvador J. Scariano Sr., who passed away at the age of 89. Born and raised in the vibrant heart of New Orleans' French Quarter, he embraced life with a sense of adventure that carried him through a remarkable journey. He was the loving husband to Dolores Scariano for 71 wonderful years. Caring father to Sandra Marlborough, Salvador Scariano Jr. (Nancy) and Bruce Scariano; grandfather to Sally Bell (Jed), Timothy Scariano (Jen), Stephen Scariano, Elizabeth Bohn (Karl), Emily Tharel (Michael), Zachary A. Scariano, Kevin Marlborough (Lee Ann) and Brittany Kappe (Phillip); great-grandfather to Jacob, Joseph, Jackson, Scarlett, Tyson, Madison, Sabella, Kamryn, Kiersten, Paisley, MacKenzie, Westin, Harlyn and Eleanor. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Marie Scariano; his siblings, Anthony Scariano and Drinda Scariano.
Salvador served an impressive 31-year career in the Navy; he served his country with dedication and honor. Beyond his military service, he found solace and joy in his early years by the water, indulging in his passion for fishing and boating. His greatest achievement, however, was the enduring love he shared with his beloved wife, Dolores. Together for an astounding 71 years, their marriage stood as a testament to the strength of commitment, partnership, and unwavering affection. As he aged, his priorities shifted, and he discovered a new kind of contentment. Sitting comfortably on his couch, remote in hand, he embraced the world of television with enthusiasm. Whether it was watching sports, classic movies, or the news, those moments of relaxation became an integral part of his routine.
As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we remember his unwavering dedication, his love for the sea, his unbreakable bond with his spouse, and his ability to find joy in the simplest of pleasures. He will forever remain in our hearts as a cherished memory, a true sailor, and a beacon of love and resilience.
