

Samuel Gabriel Maniscalco Jr., age 86, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 with his loving family at his side. He is survived by the love of his life Hazel Robinson Maniscalco for 66 years. Loving father of Donna Maniscalco Lopez (Ricky Sr.) and the late David Gerard Maniscalco. Son of the late Samuel Sr. and Michelena Maniscalco. Brother of Blaise Maniscalco of Shreveport, LA, Frances Harper and the late Joe Maniscalco, Rose De Jean, Vincent Maniscalco and Michael Maniscalco. Proud grandfather of David Jules Maniscalco of Knoxville, TN, Heather Lopez Wagner (Joey), Ricky Lopez Jr. (Merissa). Great grandfather of Noah Wagner, Jonah Gabriel Wagner and Rhen Lopez. Samuel was a Master Engraver, a perfectionist, he began his career at the age of 15 at Adler’s & Hausman’s. He studied with the Masters and went into business for himself in New Orleans, LA. Samuel worked with Steve Constance at Gravens for 30 years. He retired to St. Bernard Parish and worked from his home in Arabi, LA until Hurricane Katrina. Samuel served the St. Bernard area for many years with his beautiful engraving. His work will never be forgotten. Samuel was a United States Navy Veteran and proudly served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1952 on 2 aircraft carriers. Special thanks to Americare Hospice for their wonderful care. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, January 29, 2016 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest with military honors in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
