Sandra Patricia Rizzo Allums passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the age of 76. She was the cherished wife of the late Robert Archie Allums. Loving mother of Stephanie King Melerine and Ronald David King II. Sister of Betsy Rizzo Hotard, the late Gerard Raymond Rizzo, the late Dale Rizzo Heath and the late Edmund Victor Rizzo Jr. Daughter of the late Edmund Victor Rizzo Sr. and Laverna Schnell Rizzo. She is also survived and fondly remembered by her 6 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, cousins and dear friends.
Born in New Orleans and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish before finding her final home in Denham Springs. She was a woman of simple pleasures. She found joy in the little things — whether it was her time spent at the Angel Wings Antiques & Collectibles, or the Slidell Antique Market, where her passion for the past came to life through the treasures she lovingly cared for. But what truly defined Sandra, was not her interest in antiques or collectibles — it was her gift for caring. She poured her heart into others, especially those less fortunate. She devoted herself to helping others in a way that required no grand gestures, no applause. Whether she was teaching reading to those in need or providing clothing for the less fortunate to keep them warm, Sandra understood what it meant to serve without asking for anything in return. She touched lives quietly but profoundly, helping those who struggled without ever seeking recognition.
To her family, she was our rock, our comforting strength, always there with open arms and a heart full of love. Her laughter filled the room and her ability to spoil her grandchildren was a joy to see. She was the very embodiment of what it means to love unconditionally — to be a caring, giving, and supportive presence in the lives of those who meant the most. She will always be remembered for her loyalty, her dedication, and her commitment to making the world a better place, even in the smallest of ways. Her impact will be felt forever in the memories we carry with us. Rest in peace, Sandra. We will miss you so deeply, but we will hold on to the lessons you taught us — of humility, of service, and of loving without expectation. You were truly one of a kind and we are forever grateful for the love you shared with us.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL GARDENS CEMETERY, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM.
