

Selena “Chata” Perez Rodriguez, age 92, of Meraux, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Known for her radiant smile, Selena lived a long and beautiful life devoted to her family and her faith.
She is survived by her beloved children: Vera Nunez (Richard), Glenda Guillot (Charlie), Celina Rodriguez (Louie), and Natalie Boyer (Gary). Selena was a proud and cherished grandmother to Mattie Gonzales (Lee), Glenn Nunez (Stacie), Louie Rodriguez (Tracy), John Albe III (Jamie), Elton Steen III (Mara), Jillian Albe, Maegan Dobson (Matthew), Maria Gautreaux (Morgan), Devin Alfonso (Dylan), Avery Boyer, and Ella Boyer. She was further blessed with twenty-three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Selena is also survived by her sister, Marlene Campo (Martin).
Selena was preceded in death by her parents, Casimere and Celina Perez; her siblings Alfred Perez, Wilfred Perez, Milton Perez, Lucille Gebbia, Camille Roberts, and Nora Latapie; her husband, Glenn Nathan Guillot; and her daughter, Pennie Guillot.
A dedicated and hardworking woman, Selena spent her career at the Michaud Assembly Facility for Chrysler and Boeing, later retiring from Martin Marietta. Her Catholic faith was the anchor of her life. She served faithfully as a lector in several church parishes over the years, including Our Lady of Lourdes in Violet, San Pedro Pescador in St. Bernard, and Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Chalmette. She was also a devoted member of the League of Mary and AARP Chalmette.
Selena will be remembered most for the love she poured into her family, her remarkable cooking, and her vibrant personality. Whether known as Selena or affectionately as Chata, she cherished time spent with her loved ones, never missed an opportunity to celebrate, and filled every room with warmth. She loved dancing, traveling, and took numerous pilgrimages that enriched her faith and friendships.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2805 Bayou Rd., St. Bernard, LA 70085, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Words of Remembrance will follow from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, with a memorial funeral Mass beginning at 11:30 AM. Selena will be laid to eternal rest at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
