Troy David Diaz

Troy David Diaz, age 57, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at his residence in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born on December 19, 1967, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Glenn E. Diaz and Barbara Centorbi Zerrahn.

Troy spent his early years in New Orleans before moving to Shreveport, LA and then to Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Jesuit-Dallas in 1986 and then returned to New Orleans. In 2007, following Hurricane Katrina, Troy made the decision to move back to Shreveport, Louisiana. He worked in the construction industry and then later in the restaurant business.

Troy was a devoted father to his late daughter, Sage Chick Diaz, and his son, Elijah David Diaz. He is survived by his son Elijah David Diaz; his mother Barbara C. Zerrahn and stepfather, Gregory; his father Glenn E. Diaz; his sisters, Rechelle Brooks, (Ed) and Dana Diaz; his stepson, Ian Armstrong and his former wife Jennifer Melton Diaz.

Troy is preceded in death by his much loved daughter, Sage Chick Diaz; his maternal grandparents; Ursula Centorbi Weaver, Charles Centorbi, Jr. and Step-Grandfather, Sidney Weaver; his paternal grandparents; Alfred Diaz and Dorothy Verrett Diaz.

Troy had a deep love for music and cooking and was a passionate supporter of the New Orleans Saints and LSU football teams. He had a great sense of humor and loved all people which made it easy for him to make friends wherever he went. Above all, Troy cherished watching his son Eli play football and took great pride in his son’s accomplishments both on the field and in school.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. VIRTUE ST., Chalmette, LA on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A funeral mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. A committal service will take place on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent De Paul no. 3, 1401 Louisa Street, New Orleans, LA 70117.
