

Vera Guillot Nunez, born October 30, 1952, passed away on June 10, 2026, at the age of 73. A longtime resident of Braithwaite, Louisiana, Vera will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who were blessed to know her.
Family was the steady center of Vera’s life. Beloved by those around her, she gave of herself with a steady, hard-working devotion, offering the kind of reliable care that brought comfort through life’s ordinary days and difficult moments alike. She held a special tenderness for the younger generations of her family, embracing them with pride and protectiveness that made each one feel seen, valued, and truly loved. Vera loved and adored all her nieces and nephews, and she cherished them with the same warmth and devotion others reserve for grandchildren; that love extended as well to her great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces.
Vera is survived by her loving partner of 20 years, Richard Luscy; her sisters, Glenda Guillot (Charlie), Celina Rodriguez (Louie), and Natalie Boyer (Gary); her loving nieces and nephews: Mattie Gonzales (Lee), Louie Rodriguez (Tracy), John Albe (Jamie), Elton Steen (Mara), Jillian Albe, Maegan Dobson (Matthew), Maria Gautreaux (Morgan), Devin Alfonso-Hayes (Dylan), Avery Boyer, and Ella Boyer; her great nieces and nephews: Lee Gonzales (Abby), Mia Gonzales, Tate Gonzales, Cami Gonzales, Sophie Rodriguez, Max Rodriguez, Stella Rodriguez, Talan Albe, Kaden Albe, Cade Albe, Kenly Albe, Evan Dobson, Lucas Dobson, Quinn Dobson, Alaya Steen, Layla Albe, Wyatt Albe, Reese Gautreaux, Louis Gautreaux, Teddy Gautreaux, Kain Hood; her two great-great nieces, Eliana and Violette Gonzales.
She is also survived by Richard’s children, Shelly Robin (David) and Kurt Luscy (Betsy); grandchildren, Kayla Culotta (Jared) and Noah Rapps; and great-grandchildren, Dawsyn and Decker Culotta. Vera is also survived by one son and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Guillot; her mother, Selena Rodriguez; and her sister, Pennie Guillot.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Karen Hill, Vera’s caregiver, and to Southern Grace Hospice, for their kindness, support, and compassionate care.
Friends and relatives are invited to a Celebration of Vera’s Life at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA 70043, on Monday June 22, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. A Memorial Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am. She will be laid to eternal peace at St. Bernard Catholic at 2805 Bayou Rd, Louisiana, LA 70085.
