

Virginia Forte Roger passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2025 at the age of 96. She was the cherished wife of 25 years to the late Earl Roger Jr. Loving mother of the late Earl Roger III, Randy Roger and Doreen Roger. Daughter of the late John Forte and Santa Bono Forte. Sister of Salvador Forte and the late Joseph Forte, Conchetta Forte, John Forte and Vincent Forte. Proud grandmother of Raquel Cousins, Wayne Mendoza, Derick Mendoza, Chazz Roger and Kayla Roger. Great grandmother of Zachary Cousins, Braxtyn Cousins, Trinity Cousins, Brinley Roger and Camden Roger.
Virginia was born in New Orleans, LA and enjoyed a long career serving and retiring as a clerk with the Navy Port. She truly enjoyed life through her simple pleasures of Bingo games, day trips to the casino and creating her wonderful crafts. She found pleasure in the details of everyday life and cared deeply for others. Virginia will always be remembered for her loyalty and dedication to her family, her caring and loving spirit, her laughter, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful example of what it means to care for others. She will be missed by all who were touched by her love, kindness and compassion.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, September 23rd from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a funeral service in Virginia’s memory beginning at 1:00PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
