His many accomplishments include serving as Church Council President of Gethsemane Lutheran Church and President of the St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce. He also volunteered with the Junior Achievement Program along with serving as a mentor to many youth over the years. Weldon enjoyed many things; sailing, books, hunting, fishing, traveling but most of all he enjoyed his family. The last time I saw Buck was in 1973 at my mom's wake. I was in N.O. last summer and I was trying to locate him on google. Called Number posted but connect. He was like my brother and a real sweetheart. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He was a joy to be around, and a great dancer. You are in our thought and prayers.I will look though my pictures. Spent a lot of time with Weldon over the years. Every time I think of him, I can't help but remember his laugh. He would same something, or tell a joke, with his signature smile. Then he would laugh. It's the first thing that comes to my mind. I know he will be missed by all who knew him.

Weldon, was my room mate at SLU and great friend. He was an amazing guy that actually changed my life. I was a bit shy back then and Weldon showed me how to meet people without being intimidated. It stuck with me all my life and I passed it on to my children. Their lives were also changed as the result.
Him and I hunted, fished and skin dove together. There are so many good memories, crazy ones, but all good ones. He was a rock solid friend. My only regret is not spending time with him in our later years.
I was also so happy to see he was a Christian. Nothing else matters but where he is right now, home with the Lord.

Mr. Weldon, always had a smile on his face. Such a sweet man. His family and my family went to Gethsemane Lutheran Church. He was a good man that served God. My sympathy to the Gebhard family. Love Marcia
