Yvonne Dauterive Schmit

Yvonne Rose Dauterive Schmit, age 88, passed away peacefully into the arms of her heavenly Father and into a long awaited embrace from her late husband, Elward J. Schmit. Her reunion in heaven will include her late twin sister, Elvie Blanche Schmit, her other sister Virgie Douroux, and her brothers, Elmore Dauterive and Robert Dauterive Jr, her parents, Robert Louis Dauterive, and Magdalena Schenck Dauterive and other relatives and dear friends. She will be greatly missed and will live forever in the hearts of her family including her daughters, Yvonne Soriano and Yvette Dohmann, her sister-in-law and best friend, Joyce Dauterive, her sons-in-law, Enrique Soriano and Chris Dohmann, her grandchildren, Cheree Dohmann, Monique Harlton (Brian), Scott Dohmann (Tara), Suzzette Schambach (Andre), and six great-grandchildren, Morgan, Brennan, Gavin, Ezra, Sloane and Addison Rose. She is also beloved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends and other extended family. She was a lifelong member of First English Lutheran Church. May we all carry on her legacy and example to appreciate the beautiful things of this world with peace and love. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at First English Lutheran Church at 3701 Cleary Ave., Metairie, LA 70002 on Friday, October 2nd between 11:00AM to 1:00PM, followed by a service in Yvonne’s memory beginning at 1:00PM. She will be laid to rest with her husband in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA 70043. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Yvonne to First English Lutheran Church.
