Betty Elizabeth Umberger

She was born August 6, 1927, in Chambersburg, PA.

Betty married the love of her life, the late Lewis H. Umberger in 1954.

Betty worked for Value City and the Heinz Company for many years. She was a member of the Amvets, post 224 and spent a lot of time at the Senior Center with her friends.

She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Betty loved spending time with her family. She would treat everyone like they were family, making sure they had a hot meal or somewhere to sleep. Betty also liked keeping up with her friends on her cellphone. She and her late husband, Lewis, used to enjoy going camping during the summer time.

Betty is survived by three children, daughter, Janet Meredith, of Greencastle, PA., and sons, Jeff Umberger and wife Jackie, and Ed Cramer of Chambersburg, PA., grandchildren Fawn Baer, Chris Umberger, Lewis Cramer, Jennifer Cramer, Nicole Cramer, Lindsay Baer, 9 great grand children: Major, Dylan, Hayden, Damien, Josephine, Cameron, Ethan, Carly, and special niece, Bobbie Jo Nailor of Fayetteville, PA.

She is predeceased by a sister, Mary Smith, and three brothers, Ken Morris, Bill Morris, and Jess Morris.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel at the Robert L. Hendricks Funeral Home on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 11am with the Rev. Alan C. Witter officiating. Interment will be immediately after at Parklawns Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum, in Chambersburg.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 6-8pm at the Robert L. Hendricks Funeral Home, 3218 Philadelphia Ave. Chambersburg, PA. 17201.
