Clyde G. Dixon

Clyde G. Dixon of Chambersburg, PA got his promotion to Heaven on January 3rd, 2018. He was born in Egypt, AR in Gilbert & Lydia Dixon. They moved to Akron, OH where he grew up. He served proudly in the Navy during the Korean War & was on the Battleship USS Iowa. He married his wife Patricia in 1958 and moved to Southern CA where he raised his family. He was a retired Teamster truck driver and worked for Consolidated Freightways for 43 years. His wife passed away in 2014 after they had been married 55 years. He spent his last 3 1/2 years living in Chambersburg to be near his son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He lived at Magnolia's of Chambersburg and was well cared for & loved. He is survived by his son Dale & wife Angela, daughter Debra Brooks and husband Stuart, son David & wife Jenny, brother Peter Dixon, sisters Irene Finley & Faye Ritchie and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family. He also had 2 sisters that preceded him in death - Lois Snyder & June Weyandt. Clyde loved spending time with his family, was an avid reader, and riding his 3 wheeled bicycle. Clyde will be greatly missed! Funeral service will be Monday 8, at 2 pm. at Robert Hendricks Funeral Home, in Parklawns Cemetery. Clyde and my father, Walter Harbaugh, had so much in common. Both from the "Greatest Generation", and greatly respected by each other and by our family. We loved Clyde. May the memories you treasure the most live forever in your hearts.
