I worked many years with Davey at James River.  My sympathy to his family.

Pappy was one of the most humble persons i  have ever known.A gentle and loving spirit,who took much pleasure in knowing the ones he loved were happy! He will be so sorely missed!

Was so saddened to hear of Davey's passing. What a special friend he was. Davey was always there to help the neighbors while growing up. he would always like talking to Dad about baseball and never hesitated in sharing words with me even though I was a little younger. Heaven received a "special" spirit on Wednesday. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time and always.... Arthur Carter

He will be missed by many, but we can take comfort in knowing he is no longer in any pain.  He's gone to a better place to be with those he once mourned the loss of.  He was an amazing man and I'm so glad he was in our lives, but especially my grandma and aunt's, he gave more to them than he ever knew.

A life well and honorably lived!  A friend to many and a stranger to no one. Always there to lend a helping hand to anyone. When I say he was one of a kind it is not a cliche.  He was! Much loved by all lives he touched!  He is now an angel watching over us!  I love you Sweet Pappy.  My life is so much richer having known you.  Thank you for bringing so much happiness and joy into my Mom's life!  Forever loved and missed by all in Virginia!

God has taken an amazing person home. Dave was a kind and generous person. He has touched my childrens lives and has been the best pappy that a parent could ask for. We are blessed to have had in our lives for what seems a life time but really only 17 short years. Pappy you are loved and will be missed by so many.
