James A. Shoop

James A. Shoop,94, formerly of Sollenberger Rd Chambersburg PA, passed away Thursday July 17, 2025, at Paramount Senior Living in Fayetteville PA surrounded by his family. James was the husband of Donna A. (Bender) Shoop, married November 29, 1952 (72 years). James was born May 19, 1931, in Dry Run PA, the son of the late Albert and Carrie (McGee) Shoop. James was a United States Army Veteran, proudly serving during the Korean conflict. James was a hard worker, who was helpful and known to be a friend to all he met. He believed in “family first”. He enjoyed music and dancing. James is survived by his wife Donna, children; Deborah Dailey (Harry Jr), Linda Gadberry (Denver), Patti Shoop, Lori Pittenger (Mike), grandchildren; Col. James Dailey, Jason Houser (Beth), Kevin Dailey, Heather Houser, Nathan Jumper, Megan Smith (Jordan), 17 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and his siblings; Donald Shoop, Shirley Diehl, Kay Dietrich and Bonnie Fredricks. He was preceded by his brothers, Dale, Jay, Warren, and John Shoop.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday July 29, 2025, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, Chambersburg PA, from 10:00am-11:00am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Park Lawn Memorial Gardens.
