Ralph B. Lehman

Ralph Benjamin Lehman passed away on March 17, 2016, at his home in Lorton, Va. Ralph was the son of the late Edgar Francis (Senior) and Grace McKenzie Lehman. He was born in Greene Township, Franklin County, Pa. on October 31, 1933 and was a graduate of Chambersburg High School. He was one of seven children. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edgar Francis (Junior) and Rev. Robert Lehman. His surviving siblings are Paul E. Lehman, Margaret Sleighter, Mildred Sanders, and Dorothy Krier.
Ralph was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He leaves behind his wife of sixty year, Maxine Harmon Lehman; his children and their spouses, Andrea and Jay Sonstroem, Eric and Lisa Lehman, and David and Mary Beth Lehman; and eight grandchildren, Emily and Rebecca Sonstroem, Kyle and Ryan Lehman, and Kearsten, Anna Rose, Philip and Julia Lehman. His family was his joy and pride.
Ralph retired in 1990 as a Senior Logistics Manager with 36 years of civilian federal service.
He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church and attended Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Springfield, Va. for the past 48 years.
Ralph will always be remembered for his strong faith in Christ, charming smile, friendly personality, incredible hospitality, beautiful flower gardens, adventuresome spirit, and love of music, including his 19 years as a percussionist with a band of retirees – the Song Masters.
Ralph Lehman will be interred at Parklawn Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 in Chambersburg, Pa. Family and friends will gather at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel on the cemetery grounds. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Springfield, Va. on April 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. to celebrate Ralph's life and faith.
