Ronald Lee Barnes

Born on March 1, 1943, in Chambersburg, PA, he was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Martha Barnes, and his wife, Donna (Shelly) Barnes.

Mr. Barnes was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Lemaster’s and was a dedicated Life Member of the Greencastle Rescue Hose Company No. 1, during which he held the position of Fire Police Chief for numerous years. He graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1962. Ron was employed for many years at Spicher’s Appliance. His hobbies included spending time at the beach with his wife, Donna, yard work, and enjoying time with friends and family.

Surviving family members include two sons, R. Curtis Barnes of Greencastle and Craig (Julie) Barnes of Alabama; two grandsons, Haven (Caroline) Barnes of Texas and Noah (Tany) Barnes of Maryland; and a sister, Joann Snider of Chambersburg.

Visitation will start at 10 AM with funeral service to follow at 11 AM on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at the chapel of Parklawns Funeral Home, located at 3218 Philadelphia Ave, Chambersburg, with Rev. Mark Ruzicka officiating. Interment will follow in the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greencastle Rescue Hose Company No. 1.
