It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, husband, tata, brother tio, primo, compadre and friend. Alfred H. Martinez Jr., better known to all as "Pancho " or "Al", passed away peacefully at his home in Chander, AZ, on March 14th, 2025 surrounded by great love, family and friends. Pancho fought a courageous battle against Pancreatic Cancer with unwavering strength and positive spirit, always putting his family first.
Pancho was born on July 10th, 1948 in Mesa, AZ and grew up in Chandler, AZ, but as he would always say with a prideful smile, he grew up in his hometown of Hightown, AZ. Period!!! That's right Puro Hightown, Si Señor!
He lived a life filled with love, laughter and deep commitment to his family, his music, his Washington Redskins, Yankees and to his Grande Nati, his true love of 56 years.
He proudly served his country in the Korean war, and was a Sergeant in the Army National Guard. He was a proud member of Guadalupe Post 124.
Pancho was a jack of all trades. After thirty years in the construction industry he tried retirement, though that did not last long. He went right back to work. Even after his diagnosis he didn't give in. Our father never ceased to amaze us, a true warrior!
Panchos legacy is one of unwavering love, kindness and remarkable sense of humor. If you met Pancho he made you instant family. Un Corazon de Oro tenia Nuestro Padre.
The memories and love for all, especially his music. Whether at, a BBQ, Quince, in his car did even just being at home with family and friends, has left an imprint on our hearts and an impact in our lives and memory that can never be erased....
He leaves behind a cherished family. His wife of 56 beautiful years Natividad F. Martinez; His children Rene (Margaret), Elisa (Ramon), Terry, Yvonne (Juan), Santos (Martha); His grandchildren Joseph (Jasmine) Nicolas (Alexis), Reyes (Marissa), Israel, Gabriela, Alejandro, Armann (Chris), Melissa, Sierra, Santos Jr., Samantha (Jalen), Gisselle (Kevin), Andrew, Nevaeh, Jennavi, Serenity, Sebastian; His great grandchildren Joseph Jr., Jazlyn, Aaliyah, Izabelle, Ariana, Reyes Jr., Anthony, Aiden; Siblings Abelardo, Patsy (Eddie), Elena, Rose, Michael (Dwayne), Veronica.
