Amber Aileen Rock

Amber Aileen Rock, 39, passed peacefully in her sleep on the evening of July 2nd, 2016 at her home in Mesa, AZ. Amber was born on December 27th, 1976 in Missoula, MT. Amber leaves to this world her most special gift, her daughter Kirsten Sue Cotner. Kirsten begins the 4th grade this July. Amber is survived by her parents, Lana and Bob Rock of Chandler, AZ.; brother Jon Rock of Mesa, AZ; grandmother Mary Rock and aunt Lynda Rock of Darby, MT; and cousins Tawni Herold of Longmont, CO and Heather Philips of Boring, OR. She was preceded in her passing by her grandparents Frank “Bus” and Eva Richards, her uncle Alan Richards, and grandfather Robert Rock Sr.

As a child growing up in Montana, Amber enjoyed doing all the seasonal activities such as water and snow skiing, sledding, ice skating, snowmobiling and swimming; including participating on the YMCA Synchronized Swimming Team. She spent many hours fishing for perch and catching crawdads at their home on Salmon Lake, MT. Amber also went on many camping trips with her grandparents, Bus and Eva. The family moved to Arizona in 1988 and returned to their Montana home during the summer. Amber went to high school at McClintock High and participated in ROTC. After high school she held many different jobs, looking for what she really liked. Amber graduated from Rio Salado College in 2014 with an Associate’s Degree with Honors in Computer Technology. She used that knowledge in her career as a technical salesperson marketing software to Fortune 500 companies. With Amber’s passing we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss her every day, she will forever remain in our hearts. Amber will be remembered as an amazing mother and daughter, and loyal friend to many.

Services for Amber will be Monday July 18th at 4:00PM MST at Valley of the Sun Memorial in Chandler, AZ.
