earth came to an unexpected conclusion and she gained her wings. Anna’s early
departure serves as a reminder of just how precious life is. Anna’s father and mother,
Lino and Beatrice Grech, awaited her arrival in Heaven, along with her older sister,
Margarita Gasse. She was born on December 28, 1952, in Malta and immigrated to
Toronto, Canada with her family in 1965. Her husband was offered a job opportunity in
Cleveland, Ohio and they decided to move their family to the United States of America
in 1989. She moved to Arizona in 1997 and relished the steadfast days of endless
sunshine. Anna dabbled in modeling and studied cosmetology before building a career
in the banking industry. She retired at age 62 as a store manager and took pride in
teaching younger generations of banking professionals.
Anna loved her family fiercely and unforgivingly. She met her husband, Douglas, on a
blind date and the two were married in October 1977. Anna and Doug’s love story
unfolded over a 44-year marriage, and they set a remarkable example of enduring love
for their children.
Her devotion, dedication, and commitment to her children and granddaughter were
unwavering and truly unconditional. She was always there with thoughtful words of
reassurance, a big hug to help take away any size pain and could be found serving as
the personal cheerleader for each of her family members.
Anna is survived by her husband, Douglas, her four children, MaryAnne, Melissa,
Meghan, and Mandy, along with her granddaughter, Lily. Also, her brother, Joseph
Grech of Airdrie, Alberta and her sister, Tania Ehrl of Brampton, Ontario.
Family and friends are invited to attend Anna’s funeral mass on February 2, 2022, at
11AM at St. Mary’s Magdalene Catholic Church at 2654 E Williams Field Rd, Gilbert
85295 followed by interment at Queen of Heaven cemetery located at 1562 E Baseline
Rd, Mesa 85204. We will host a reception with eulogy at the Belton residence
immediately after the cemetery at 2146 E San Carlos Place, Chandler 85249.
