Anne Christine “Chris” Stevens, 80, of Gilbert, Arizona, passed away on September 24, 2025. She was born in Los Angeles, California in 1944 and grew up in a loving family that nurtured her creativity, faith, and determination. Chris attended Monte Vista High School in Spring Valley, CA, graduating in 1962, and was especially proud of her role as Captain of the marching corps, where her leadership and school spirit shone brightly.
In 1965, Chris married Ron Stevens in Hutchinson, Kansas, beginning a devoted marriage that lasted 60 years until her passing in 2025. After Ron completed his service in the United States Marine Corps, the couple moved to Hutchinson in 1967 where they began building their life and family together. In 1987, Chris and Ron moved to Arizona, which became their long-term home.
From her earliest days in Hutchinson, Chris was a gentle presence. She volunteered helping learning disabled children at Graber School and made a difference with her compassion and patience. Chris’s creative spirit was boundless. She took great joy in decorating her home, filling it with beauty and comfort. She was proficient in knitting, crochet, and sewing, often giving handmade gifts crafted with love. Her passion for cardmaking and rubber stamping brought joy to her family and friends with every thoughtful creation.
Cooking was another of Chris’s many talents. She was an excellent cook, drawing inspiration from her large library of cookbooks to share countless memorable meals. Her kitchen was a place of nourishment and togetherness. Away from the stove, Chris was a passionate reader, and her Christian library was as extensive as her faith. She loved listening to music from the 60’s and 70’s and filling her home with melodies that brought happiness and memories alive.
Chris’s life was devoted to caring for others. After settling in Arizona, she spent over a decade volunteering with the Gilbert Police Department as a Victims Assistance Volunteer, comforting those in their darkest hours. She was a true crusader for Christ; a champion of the unborn whose courage and convictions shone through in everything she did.
Her greatest joy was her family. Together with her husband Ron, Chris traveled to Europe, North America, and Hawaii, building treasured memories along the way. They raised three children in a loving home; Scott, Lisa, and Tonia. Chris is survived by her husband, Ron; daughters Lisa Glausier (Eddie) and Tonia Adetokunbo (Lavar); seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Scott.
Chris will be remembered as a woman who filled every one of her 80 years with creativity, faith, kindness, and grace. Her legacy lives on in her family, her heartfelt creations, and the many lives she touched.
