Barbara Ann Esterly

January 26, 1946July 7, 2018

Barbara Ann Esterly, nee Schuhrke, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at age 72.

Barb is survived by her beloved husband, Paul; her loving children, Ken (Barb), Jeff (Emily); her mother, Ruth Schuhrke; brother, John (Nancy) Schuhrke; her cherished grandchildren, Anthony, Austin, Cole, Sam, Hailey and Jake; and her 4 legged friend, Pumpkin.

Barb was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Schuhrke.

Barb grew up in Chicago and Bloomingdale, IL. She attended St. Francis High School. Barb & Paul were married in 1965. They lived in Villa Park for 41 years before moving to Apache Junction, AZ in 2012.

Barb was always at Paul’s side when he traveled the Midwest to race his Formula V. She adored her grandchildren and would play for hours with them. The kids favorites, Mac-N-Cheese, hot dogs and green juice was always available. Barb and her mother loved to chat on the phone every day and when together enjoyed a glass of Beringer White Zinfandel. Barb worked at Biltmore Consolidated Services in Elk Grove Village for many years. She will be missed dearly, but we know that because of her belief in Jesus we will see her again.

In lieu of flowers the esterly family requests that donations be made to the Schreiner Children's Hospital in Barbara's name.

Paul and kids, Aunt Ruth, John and Nancy,
Joyce and I are so sorry about your loss of Barb. We remember some of the good times we had with Barb and your family. The time we went to Twin Lakes camping and fishing with the whole family sleeping in the big tent. Visiting with you in Chicago and playing games in your swimming pool. Sharing old times picnicing in moms back yard. These will always be fond memories of the time we got to spend with Barb and her family.

With all our love,

Lee and Joyce Grooms

I never had a sister, so you were the closest to one that I ever had. Thanks for being such a wonderful "sister". I will truly miss you.
