

Kozak, Barbara Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on 22 August 2012 at the age of 70. She was preceded in death by her parents Margaret and Nicholas Laino. Barbara is survived by her husband of 42 years Michael, her daughters Erika Coleman and Suzanne Kirchner and their husbands Todd and Eric. She also had four grandchildren. Also her brother William Laino and his wife Ellen and their children. Barbara was born and lived most of her life in New York on Long Island. She loved her home garden, the beach, teaching school and raising her family. Many family vacations were enjoyed through the years. She had a talent for growing beautiful plants and home decorating. She graduated NYS Teachers College at Potsdam and received a Masters of English from Penn State. Barbara taught English, Mathematics and Latin for twenty years on Long Island. She and her husband retired to Arizona at Sun Lakes in 2004. There she made many friends as a result of her winning personality. Barbara enjoyed reading, playing bridge, day trips with the Red Hats, dances and parties, being with her grandchildren and foreign travel. A Memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. with Rosary at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 7th at St. Steven's Catholic Church 24827 S. Dobson Rd., Sun Lakes, Arizona. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and Hospice of the Valley, Phoenix, AZ. She ended by saying, “I truly have enjoyed my life”.
