Barbara Joann Prusha

Barbara was born on January 13, 1941, in Marshalltown to a family deeply rooted in history. A proud college graduate, Barbara held a lifelong value for education, with a particular passion for early childhood development. This love stemmed from her own fond memories of being read to by her grandfather—a cherished tradition she faithfully carried on with her own grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She channeled her organizational skills and love for people into her career, serving dedicatedly as the head of Human Resources for a local company until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Earl Prusha, who passed away on September 12, 2006. She was also preceded by her parents Charles Barnard and Norraine, and her brothers, Bob, George, and Herald.

Barbara's legacy of love is carried on by her daughters, Robyn, Sheryl & Cindy, her sister, Mary, and the countless individuals who affectionately knew and called her "Mom" and "Grandma."

A graveside service will be held on October 6, 2026, where Barbara and Robert will be reunited and laid to rest together at Valley of the Sun Memorial Park in the Garden of Honor.
