Betty Jo Crumley, 80, passed away on June 2nd 2016 in the city of Chandler, AZ, she was born in Morrilton, Ark. on July 21st 1935 to Ben and Dorothy Hoelzeman . Betty Jo married Robert R. Parham Sr. December 26th 1953 in Little Rock, Ark. They were married for 25 years and had 4 children together, Bobby, John, Barbara and Marilyn. On February 14th 1985 Betty Jo married Richard Crumley the love of her life. They were married for 18 years. They enjoyed traveling, seeing new places, spending time with family and friends but most importantly each other’s company. They moved from California to Washington where they spent the majority of their time. Betty Jo became widowed when Richard fell ill for many years, Betty being the dedicated wife she was she put her heart and soul into caring for Richard until he passed away in 2003. After Richards’s death Betty Jo eventually moved to Chandler, AZ with her daughter Barbara who helped take care of her the past 5 years. Arizona became her new home which she loved because she was surrounded by family and was able to celebrate so many special occasions. Betty Jo enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved traveling, spending hours in the kitchen, thrift shop shopping, trying new restaurants, meeting new people and learning their stories, watching her daily soaps, reading book after book usually several at a time, sewing, gardening, her coca-colas with extra ice, a good margarita on a hot summer day but most of all she enjoyed her family time and spending time with the ones she loved. Betty Jo is survived by her four children Robert R Parham Jr, John Parham, Barbara Verdusco, and Marilyn Parham, her sister Diane Hoelzeman, her extended family Gary Crumley, Kevin Crumley and Carla Crumley Forest, and her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Betty Jo will always be remembered for being a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. We will miss her contagious laugh, her humor, her life advice, her story telling, but most of all her daily presence. She is truly one of the strongest women many of us will ever know with a heart of pure gold. Betty Jo will be forever missed but never forgotten.
