Obituary of Betty Maxine McKinney
IN THE CARE OF

Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery

Betty Maxine McKinney gained her angel wings on November 7, 2020, aged 93, surrounded by family and friends. She was able to enjoy a final few days chatting and visiting with those she loved most.

Betty was born August 18, 1927, in Cohasset, Minnesota, to Grant and Alma (Fiero) Harthan.

Following her mother’s passing at age 9, she then helped with the family farm and attended school up until the 8th grade. She married her love, Bob McKinney, in 1946. Daughter Connie was welcomed into the family in 1947 followed by son Randi in 1956. In 1958, the family relocated to Chandler, Arizona, where Betty passed away in a converted old time Chandler farm house on November 7th.

Betty enjoyed her years working at Chandler Regional Hospital, as one of the first five staff ever hired where she served as Dietary Manager of the hospital. She continued on to work at a few more companies eventually landing at Rogers Corporation where she retired in 1989.

She is survived by her daughter Constance (Connie) Becker, her son Randi McKinney, as well as grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who she considers family. She was preceded in death by her love, Bob McKinney, her parents, her siblings Floyd and Grace, and her beloved in-laws.

Arrangements are with Valley of the Sun Mortuary in Chandler, AZ, for a private graveside burial.
