On April 24, 1946 she was born Shirley Louise Hines in Jefferson County Ohio to Wayne and Flora Hines. She had a remarkable childhood and upbringing which included being adopted out of the family at a very young age by William and Elizabeth Holm, receiving the name Beverly Lynn Holm. With a servant heart, Beverly spent her life caring for others, from her five children to the people she aided in elderly care facilities and home health.
Beverly married Jack Bernath in 1964. Starting their lives in Ohio, they shortly moved their small family to Colorado where the family grew. After an exciting life in Colorado, Beverly relocated to Montana, then Washington where she met and married David Bailey in 2001. Finally settling in Arizona, Beverly and David shared time with many family members and created new friendships, cherishing the twilight of their lives.
Beverly will forever be remembered fondly as having a kind heart, being a natural care giver, and as an independent fighter, always making sure that she did the absolute best with what she had available.
Beverly is preceded in death by her husband David Bailey (August 5, 2024), and survived by her children: Carolyn (Paul) O’Brien, Michael (Kathy) Bernath, Judi (Lincoln) Powers, John (Cindy) Bernath, and Laura (Jan) Becht; her stepdaughter Karen (Greg) Stanek; her grandchildren: John Bernath, Kymberli (Phil) Van Pelt, Stephanie (Kendall) Boecara, Brian (Sunny) Boehm, Valerie Becht, Derek Becht, Declan O’Brien, Molly O’Brien, Cory (Brooke) Stanek, Sean Stanek, and Erica Stanek; and her great-grand daughter Quinn Van Pelt.
Beverly will be missed greatly, in lieu of flowers, please donate to your local hospice in her name. A kind thank you from our family to the team from Dignity Health at Home, Dr. Anita Koszyk-Szewczyk and the team at Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers, and the team at Suncrest Hospice for supporting Beverly during this journey.
