William David Kissinger, 87, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2011. Bill was born July 14, 1923 at Oto, Iowa, to "Ike" and Mable Kissinger. He attended school in Anthon, Iowa, graduating in 1941. Bill served in World War 11 during 1941-1945 with the rank of Chief Petty Officer in the Navy. Bill received the Presidential Commendation Award for service on Guadalcanal. He umpired for the Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri Baseball Leagues during the years 1949 and 1950. Bill attended Burrough's Service Schools in Detroit, Michigan and Kansas City, Kansas. He was employed for Burroughs Corporation in Sioux City, Iowa. Bill was united in marriage to Grace Bartels on August 26, 1953. Bill was transferred to Watertown, South Dakota with a promotion to Service Group Manager for Burroughs Corporation in 1955. He retired in 1983 and moved to Mesa, AZ. in 1984. Bill was a security officer for America West Airlines which is now U.S. Airways, where he retired as a Lead Officer in Security at the Hangar, October 2010. He is survived by his wife Grace, son Myron, granddaughters Brittanie and Bradie and one sister Margaret Finzen. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 28th at 10:00 A.M. at Victory Lutheran Church, 5946 E. University Drive, Mesa, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to; Hospice of the Valley, 6063 E. Arbor Ave. Building "C", Mesa AZ. 85206 or Victory Lutheran Church, 5946 E. University Dr., Mesa, AZ 85205.
