From the beginning, Catherine’s life carried the quiet strength of someone shaped by both roots and journeys. She completed two years of college, and in the years that followed, her steady devotion to home and family became a lasting expression of the care she so naturally gave.
A homemaker, Catherine made everyday life feel held together by tenderness and purpose. In her marriage of 49 years to Terry Mykes, she built a life marked by enduring love—one that was felt not only in the milestones, but in the faithful, ordinary moments that become a family’s foundation.
Catherine found comfort and meaning in the rhythms of her days. She loved working on diamond dot pictures, reading the Bible and novels, listening to audiobooks, cooking, and growing orchids—small, living testaments to her patient attention and gentle joy.
Her faith and community were central to her life. She was a member of OASIS Community Church, Bible Study Fellowship, and the Prayer Worship Group, where her compassionate spirit and cherished presence offered warmth, steadiness, and grace.
Catherine is survived by her spouse, Terry Mykes; her son, Michael; her daughter, Heather; her grandchildren, Shawna and Felicia; and her sister, Susan. She was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Norah Ripley; and her sister, Elizabeth.
Beloved and deeply cherished, Catherine will be remembered for the quiet ways she loved—through listening, through service, through faith, and through the steady compassion that made others feel seen and cared for.
