(Beck) Hausmann. Cathy spent her youth growing up in Royal, attending
elementary, junior high, and high school there. She was confirmed into the United
Methodist Church of Royal. She graduated from Clay Central in 1965 and went to
play basketball for Gustavus Adolphus College,
Cathy's life was lived in many places. She lived in lowa, Illinois, North Carolina,
Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, but that last 25 years were in Arizona where her
families now reside.
Cathy loved the hunt for treasures. One of her favorite pass times was shopping at
the Goodwill, Estate and garage sales. She had an eye for finding the cute, quaint,
and usable "prize".
Traveling and playing cards were two pastimes of Cathy's. Her and Bob were able to
travel to Mexico many times, and did a Mediterranean Cruise and tour just last year.
She loved to have family and friends over to play progressive rummy and also played
competitive bridge with her mom and other friends.
Cathy had an impeccable eye for interior design, helping many decorate their homes
and always willing to paint or sew curtains, pillow, etc. She was the trusted designer
for her mom and sisters.
Cathy's career was as diverse. Her jobs throughout her life were waitress in college,
working for AT&T, Arvada Police department, Tempe Union High School District, and
for the last 20 years a realtor and broker for her own company. Cathy was more
than a realtor, she would go the extra mile to help her clients get settled and do
everything from painting a wall to remodeling a bathroom for them.
Cathy passed away on April 23,2019 from a short but vicious fight with pancreatic
and liver cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Daryl Hausmann,

mother Doris Hausmann of Okoboji, lA; her son Lonnie (Mira) Johnson of Chandler,
AZ; her daughter Marci (John) Burgoyne of Chandler, AZ; and her son Reed
Tomlinson of Scottsdale, AZ; her 6 grandchildren, 3 sisters and many other special
family and friends.
Services will be held May 11 in Sun Lakes.
