At the age of 3 Christine's family moved to Meridian, Mississippi. Christine attended the West End Elementary School and graduated from T.J Harris High School. Christine joined Mount Salem United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.
In 1950 Christine relocated to Chicago, where she met the love of her life Andrew Forney. Christine and Andrew were married on June 28, 1952 and from that union one son was born, Michael. Christine and Andrew remained married until his death in December 2016, a true reflection of the love that they shared for each other.
Christine worked in many of the Chicago hotels as a cook and salad maker. In 1962 she joined the University of Chicago, where she worked as a Pharmacy messenger for 16 years, delivering medication to doctors for patients.
In 1979, Christine and her family moved back to Meridian Ms, which allowed her to be closer to her Mother.
Andrew and Christine started a catering service, that served hot lunches to many of the businesses throughout Meridian. Additionally Christine decided to go back to school to study Business Math.
In April 1990 Christine and Andrew relocated with her Mother to Harvey, Il where she and her mother joined and attended The St. Paul Methodist Church.
In 1991 Christine became employed with the Harvey Headstart and Ceda program as a teacher's aide and the Economic Development Center as a file clerk.
In June 2016 Christine and Andrew relocated to Arizona with their son and daughter-in-law, where they enjoyed the warm sunny days and a relaxing life. Andrew preceded Christine in death in December 2016.
Christine enjoyed life, she loved to cook for her family, always looking to cook breakfast and making her specialty cakes (Her favorites German chocolate, pound cake and coconut). Christine always made sure there was a cake on the counter.
She loved the holidays and was always right there to assist with cooking the dinner.
Christine loved to travel with her 2 closet friends prior to moving to Arizona. She loved to travel with her family, shopping and playing cards. Christine loved to watch her favorite shows daily, Steve Harvey and her stories. She loved to work her puzzle books and mind game books, believing that these things kept her mind sharp, which it did. She attended church services every Sunday, until life changed for many of us, but always made sure that she watched her church services on TV on Sunday morning . She also believed in getting her daily exercise, so she made her daily trips to the mail box to get that exercise, Christine was quite active for a 90 year old, getting around quite well.
Christine had a heart of gold, always there for her family offering whatever she could and making sure that they were always ok. She believed that family was important and always made sure that she reached out to her family and stayed in touch with them.
Christine left this life suddenly and unexpectedly on January 13, 2021. God reached down for an angel and took Christine under his wings. She is now looking down on her family from Heaven and spending time with those that had gone on before her. Christine will be truly missed by her family, her loving smile and constant care. She leaves memories that will always be cherished in the hearts of her family.
Christine leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted son Michael (Denise), 7grandchildren, 12 great-children, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
