Clark “Ed” Nowe, 93, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away on June 1, 2026. Born March 29, 1933, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ed lived a long life marked by steady purpose, deep devotion to family, and the kind of quiet enthusiasm that made everyday moments brighter.
From the beginning, Ed carried a practical curiosity into everything he did. He served in the United States Navy for three years— that reflected his sense of duty and willingness to show up fully when he was needed. He then furthered his education earning an associate’s degree and graduating from several technical schools.
Ed’s working life took to the skies. As an FAA Aviation Inspector / Pilot, he brought care, focus, and pride to a career built on precision and trust. That same appreciation for craftsmanship and detail found its way into the many things he enjoyed beyond work, too—always learning, always tinkering, always engaged.
Ed found joy in a wide range of interests that kept his mind active and his days full: flying in a simulator computer game, computers, woodworking, target shooting, golf, and square dancing. He also gave his time through church volunteering and remained rooted in the Methodist Church, where his faith and service were expressed in steady, meaningful ways.
Ed is survived by his daughter, Brenda Houk (Craig); sons, James Edward Nowe (Cindy), Clark Edward Nowe Jr.; his grandchildren, Michael Christopher Bryant, Dustin Scott Bryant (Nicolle), William Aaron Houk (Hillory), and Mathew Brandon Houk; and his great-grandchildren, Alexa Marie Bryant, Collin Ethan Bryant, Christopher Bryant, Kinsley Mae Bryant. He was predeceased by his wife, Rae Ann Nowe and his parents, Ivy Marie Heron and George Nowe.
