

Corey D. Hiner passed away at his residence in Scottsdale, AZ on June 20, 2023. He was born to Harry “Sam” Hiner & Ruth I. Shaffer Hiner on November 1, 1968 in Lancaster, OH
He graduated High School at Tarpon Springs High School in 1987 and then attended John Brown University at Siloam Springs, AR.
Corey embraced life through his poetry, songwriting, playing guitar & keyboard. He loved to cook & was an awesome storyteller. Most of all he loved his daughters & grandchildren. He will be remembered for his kind heart and his compassion towards others.
Corey worked for many years at Blue Line Distribution at different locations in the Eastern US. He devoted time to caring for his Father during his Father's illness & then became a caregiver to help others. He loved taking care of people. He found his purpose at the Good Shepherd during his final days.
Corey is survived by his Mother, Ruth Hiner of Sun Lakes, AZ, Daughters, Samantha Hiner of Snellville, GA & Felicia (Andrew) Wendel of Peachtree Corners, GA, his Granddaughter, Leah Albizu & Grandson, Jackson Wendel & soon to be arriving granddaughter Wendel. He is also survived by his sisters Marcy (Tony) Hill of Deltona, FL & Holly (Harvey Mathistad) Hiner of Sun Lakes, AZ along with several nieces & nephews and a longtime friend Yvonne Gonzales of Orlando, FL.
Corey was preceded in death by his Father, Sam Hiner & Brother, Brandon Hiner.
There will be a private Family Service. In Lieu of flowers, the Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Good Shepherd East, 6388 E. Oak St., Scottsdale, AZ 85257.
