It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Cynthia Theresa Gloria on December 9, 2016. Cynthia was born in Yuma, AZ on August 10, 1959, she was the oldest of 4 children born to Jacinto and Ramona Lucero who have preceded her in death. Immediate surviving family members include her husband: Mark Gloria, daughter: Lisa Lathrop, son in-law: Steve Lathrop, granddaughter: Carmen Lathrop all of Chandler, and brothers: David, Peter, and Raymond Lucero of Yuma, AZ
Cynthia was a lifelong native of Arizona, her fathers' family (Lucero) settled in the Yuma area in the late 1800's after moving from New Mexico; she graduated from Yuma High School in 1978 and later moved from Yuma to Mesa in 1987 along with her husband & daughter before eventually settling in Chandler and making it her home for the past 16 years. Cynthia worked several different jobs throughout the valley over her lifetime, she made many a friend and left many lasting impressions.
Cynthia most recently worked for the Chandler Unified School District as a bus attendant, working with special needs children whom she watched over and cared for as if they were her own. Cynthia was very committed to the kids she worked with and they gave her a renewed sense of purpose in light of her parents passing away just a few years ago. On some mornings when it was especially cold, Cynthia would take blankets to work with her just in case any of the kids complained about being cold and often spoke fondly of her interaction with them. Those who knew Cynthia can attest to her true sense of compassion and willingness to help out anyone in need along with her sense of humor and scrappy attitude which was contagious. We Love you Cynthia & miss you dearly, your spirit will live on in all of us; we now return to God his humble servant, loving mother, devoted wife and loyal friend....may you rest in peace Cynthia in the good graces of God our heavenly father.
