Daniel James Carroll Jr.

Daniel James Carroll Jr., born on August 11, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on November 7, 2025, at the age of 78. A resident of Chandler, Arizona, Daniel was a cherished member of his community and beloved by family and friends alike.

Daniel graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1965 and furthered his education at Northern Illinois University. He pursued a successful career and retired in 2014 as the President of Vistar Food Distribution Company, marking a distinguished chapter in his professional life.

He is survived by his sons, Dennis (Robin) Smith and Daniel (Liberty) Smith, and his grandchildren, Avery, Zachary, Angelina, Victoria, and Antoinette. Daniel also leaves behind his sister, Patti, and two brothers, Michael and Richard. He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Rebecca, and his parents, Daniel and Adeline Carroll.

Daniel was an active member of The SunBird Bandits, part of the SunBird Golf Club, reflecting his passion for golf. He also enjoyed fishing and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. Above all, he loved spoiling his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.

The family extends special thanks to his many friends and the SunBird Bandits for their support and companionship.

A memorial service will be held at the Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery, located at 10940 E Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, Arizona, 85248. The service is scheduled for November 13, 2025, at 3:00 pm.
