

78, of Chandler, Arizona died 11-20-2010 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Private funeral services will be held at Valley of the Sun chapel. Burial will be at Valley of the Sun Cemetary in Chandler. John David Hagan was born September 22 1932 in Vinton, Iowa the son of Howard and Ruth Hagan. He graduated from Shellsburg High School in 1950. He persued several job opportunites which included working for the phone company; working the wheat fields in Kansas; and driving a logging truck in Oregon, before being called to serve in the U.S. Army in Korea. After returning from Korea, he married Margaret (Pegge) Hoyt on August 11, 1956 in Oxford, Iowa. He farmed for 10 years in the Shellsburg, Iowa area before changing careers and entering the computer world. He joined Automatic Data Processing and was employed as an executive for 16 years before retiring at age 52. He enjoyed camping, fishing and being in the great outdoors along with his fishing buddies at Alamo and San Carlos lakes. He was a member of Veterans of the Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife of 54 years Pegge, daughter Sheryl of Chandler, AZ; son Dave (Brenda) of Chandler, AZ; son Kevin (Emma) of La Habra, CA; son Richard of Huntington Beach, CA, grandchildren: Michael (Mandy), Jenni (Marc), Kevin Jr., Adam, Jess, Amanda, Nicole, Keith (Erica), his sister Joyce Pollack, and many neices, nephews, step-grandchildren and his faithful yellow lab, Buddy. Preceded in death by his parents, brother James and sister Suzanne. Memorial donations can be made in honor of the American Cancer Society .
