Dad,
I love you and miss you all the time. I find myself coming back to this page often, and I appreciate all the messages everyone left. I remember you as a patient but firm man, with a sense of humor and a big heart. I wish I remembered more. I wrote a message when I was younger but the truth was that I didn't have the words, even now I don't feel like I do. I didn't then and I still don't  know how profoundly you being gone would change things.  It was my impression when I was younger that I needed to keep my chin up  and endure, I went to school the day we found out you died like nothing had happened, it practically took one of my teachers pulling me out of class to remind me of the news that morning. I think it was the best way I knew to move forward, not so much emotionally, but just through time. I think it's how Mom and Kaliegh felt too. But it's been 13 years and I know that's wrong. I wish you were here. I'm not sure how things would have ended up with our family, if It would have been better, I'm not even sure if we'd get along well as I am now and as you were then, but at least you'd be here. At least you'd be around. At least maybe I could call you and maybe you'd answer and maybe I could ask how in the world you did it all. I wonder often how things felt from your perspective, I don't think we were fair to you, and I imagine you'd agree. I think about you and mom often, you both certainly were in love, and we were lucky to have that example. I know you wouldn't want things the way they are now, but the truth is it's been hard, I have been trying, but I think I just didn't have the tools when you left, and I don't feel like I got them from anyone else. I think mom and Kaliegh may agree. You were the glue. I love you and I'm thankful you were my first and most important role model, I just hope I'll be able to fill your shoes someday.

I have known David for about the last 15 years now, a connection made between our wives and children.  I too had the pleasure of getting to know David throughout those years of doing family activities.  I must say he played a strong game of guitar hero, something my kids certainly enjoyed playing with him.

I think everyone has pretty well summed up what type of person David was.   I had the opportunity to spend some time with him the last few weeks of his time with us.  In typical David style although I knew he was not always comfortable he never complained about his situation.  I admire him for that.   On several occasions he told me to take away from all this that family is priority one and not to waste any time you could be spending with them.  I know he was proud of his family and in how Kaleigh and Zach were turning out.

I believe it is safe to say that David passed his test here on earth.  My thoughts and prayers extend out to David and his family.

Davie, Growing up with you was not like a cousin relationship it was more like a brother relationship. At times we were like a pair of puppies. If one was into something, the other was there making sure they were into it neck deep also. I am so glad I was able to grow up with you. All the hours we spent playing with GI Joes and army men are fond memories in my heart. You became a prince of a man and you will never be forgotten. I can see the same traits in your children. I enjoyed spending time with them when they came to the country. May God continue to bless your children as we continue to pray for your family.

There are no words I could say that could do David justice.  He was a wonderful friend and co-worker and he will be missed very much.  He was a man of character, integrity, strength and courage.  He will live on in our hearts and memories.

Denise, Kaleigh, & Zach:  My families prayers are for you to open your minds, hearts, souls, and spirits to God's love and peace that he has for us during times such as this.  Denise thank you for allowing your children to come to the country and to develop memories with their cousins such as we did with David growing up. Memories with family and relationship with God are what bring you through difficult times in your life.  We love you all and are praying for you daily. When I think of David all I hear in my heart is laughter and a bass voice booming.  Our prayers will be with you always.

David' most of my fondest memories growing up have your face in them. You were a fantasic cousin to grow up with and became an even better man. Words can not express how much you will be missed. Our prayers are with Denise, Kaleigh and Zach. May God bless and comfort them during this time.

David you have always had a giving heart. Thank you for sharing so much with me over the years, especially your toys when we were very young. My favorites were the hotwheels, tinker toys, and the buckaroo donkey.

Denise ~ We've missed y'all since you left our little neighborhood here in Katy, Texas. You added so much fun to all our gatherings.  David did leave a legacy here with the guys' Poker group. They're still dealin', havin' fun each and every month and think of him often.

David, My baby cousin..Your deep bass voice resonates in my heart as I remember you singing old hymns with all of us.  I wish so many times that I lived closer to my cousins and family, but God has me where I am for a purpose and a reason and I have to believe that when we are joined together with Him that we will never have to leave each other or be so far apart.  I love you so much and was so proud of you in all that you did.  I will keep your sis in my arms and try to live up to half of what you meant to her.  You will always be remembered.

We are very sorry to hear of your loss. Please accept our deepest sympathies.

I remember when David was first hired at Richmond American Homes.  There wasn't an office for him so he sat in a cube near me, Deanna and Sandy.  He was so much fun that he didn't feel like a boss!  He was so patient with all of us and was a great teacher.  Once he got an office, he made sure that he made his rounds each and every morning to say hello and ask how things were going.  He was always available to us.  

He loved his family so much.  Everytime he talked about his kids, his eyes would light up.

I didn't know David while he was going through his life dealing with this horrible disease.  I know he fought hard...that's just the way he was.  He wanted to see Kaleigh and Zach grow up, get married, to have their own kids, and to be able to spend his 'golden years' with Denise.  

God has plans for all of us, and He needed another angel.

God bless you, David, and may you rest in peace.

I am very sorry for your loss.  David was of the finest people I have ever known.  He was always kind and considerate of others.  I enjoyed working for and with him at Richmond and will miss him dearly.

I am so sorry for your loss.  I will miss your Dad so much as I have had him sitting over my shoulder these many years and now it is just empty.  He loved you all so much, everyday he would tell me what you all were up to whether it was a soccer game, band competition, or enjoying dinner out with his Princess at the Havana Cafe.  He was so happy to be your Dad and Husband it was what he lived for and to give you all the very best experiences in life.  He was a very special man who touched so many lives with his kind and caring ways and will forever live in the hearts of so many individuals who had the opportunity to call him friend.

So sorry for your loss. David adored his family and loved them all so very much.  He will always be apart of you. He was a sweet and caring person to all.  He will be missed.

I always remember Dave doing everything over the top.  If he went on a vacation it was always first class all the way.  If he went to a concert it was front row.  If he bought a new car it was the latest and greatest thing. Dave not only worked hard but he knew how to enjoy life with his family.

Another thing I will always remember about Dave is how high he held his family.  I can't tell you how often he was talking about an event he was going to with his family or how proud he was of each of them.
Everything he did was about his family.  

We will miss you...

David will always be special to our family as he lit up Denise's world beyond words. All our love to you Denise, Zachary and Kaleigh, may you find peace and comfort within each other.

I knew David as a hard-working, dedicated, and loving family man. Others knew him as a trusting and giving friend. No matter how we remember him, David was special to us all in different ways and he will be dearly missed. God bless his soul.

My memories of David were that he was a very nice person and he made my cousin happy. My condolences to Denise, Kaleigh, and Zack.

David,
You were missed when you left Katy, Texas.  Now we can only know that you are at peace with our Lord.

Our fondest memory is the day we first saw David trying to hang the Christmas lights on his house on North Pointe Place and the wind was blowing too hard.  He finally gave up and only put some around the door.  The next year, he hired someone to do it.

I will miss David's sense of humor and wonderful smile.  He was the first man to dance a Two-Step in my kitchen, and I will never forget how it came so naturally to him. (Was Denise leading?) He was always so much fun and made everyone around him feel comfortable.  Thank you, David, for the wonderful times you and Denise shared with John and me - dinners, golf, concerts and laughs by the pool.  God bless you.
