Dawns interests reflected both patience and ingenuity—from heath kits and HAM radio to quilting, family tree research, hiking, and time spent in the outdoors.
Dawn is survived by her daughters Sarah Bayless and Roberta Becker-Hathaway; sons Matt (Nida) and Ron (Sunshine); grandchildren Steven, Jason, Rachel, Rebecca, Hannah, and Shannon; great-grandchildren Miles, Vera, Scarlett, Cobalt, Roxanne, and Aziah; sister Gloria Kelley; and Nieces and Nephews whom Dawn loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Robert Hathaway; daughters Martha Queen and Betty Renheck; parents Chester and Mildred Bigham; and sisters Patricia Prinz and Joyce Wilhelm.
The family would like to give special thanks to Copper Sky Assisted Living and Compassus Hospice of Casa Grande for taking expectational care of Dawn during her last year of her life.
There will be a short interment ceremony for Dawn on September 23, 2026 at 11am. It will be held at Rosedale Memorial Park: 50 Lake Michigan Drive N.W., Grand Rapids, MI, 49534. It will be followed by a casual gathering of family and friends for a time of remembrance at the Tallmadge Township Hall, 0-1451 Leonard St. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49534.
