It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Delores Cheryl Koglmeier, known lovingly as Lori, on November 13, 2025, at the age of 71. Lori was born on July 24, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, and moved to Tempe, Arizona, at the age of 13. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, whose life was marked by her unwavering faith, love for her family, and deep compassion for others.
Lori was married to Mark Koglmeier on June 16, 1973, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and memories. After 50 years of marriage, Mark passed away on May 7, 2023. For 25 years, Lori was a dedicated homemaker, lovingly raising their four children: Scott (spouse Kari, grandchildren Hayley (spouse Logan, great granddaughter Parker), Jake, Madi, and Ella), Jody (grandchildren Levi and Mia), Kevin (spouse Kayla, granddaughter Kali), and Allison (spouse Steven, grandchildren Sterling, Haven, and Moriah). She took great joy in being involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild, watching them grow and thrive.
Lori was known for her generous spirit and willingness to serve others. She taught and helped in Sunday school, cooked and baked for church events, supported her kids and grandkids in all their endeavors, and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She welcomed others with warmth and hospitality, often working behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly, quietly making a difference in the lives of those around her.
In 1976, Lori gave her heart to the Lord as her personal Savior, and her faith was central to everything she did. Her love for God was evident in the way she cared for others, and her home was a place of warmth and comfort for all who entered.
Lori was a lifelong learner and, in her later years, pursued higher education. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2009 and a Master’s in Education in 2011, an accomplishment she was particularly proud of. She worked for the University of Phoenix for approximately 15 years and retired in 2019. In retirement, Lori especially enjoyed her favorite hobbies, including baking, gardening, working with children, tackling puzzles, and relaxing with a binge-worthy TV show.
Lori is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild, as well as her brother Gary. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mark, her adoptive father, Jon Batte, her mother, Nancy Batte, her stepmother, Lorraine, and her siblings, Linda and Tim.
Lori’s life was a testament to love, faith, and the joy of family. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on through the legacy of kindness, faith, and love she leaves behind.
A memorial service will be held on November 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Church Gilbert Annex, 1120 S. Gilbert Rd., Gilbert, AZ 85296.
