Diane Kay Morgan

On Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, Diane Morgan, a beloved wife and mother, went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ. She was 84 years old. Born to Robert and Frances Donahue of Springfield, OH, Diane and her family spent her early years living on her grandfather’s farm while her father served in WWII. After the war, her family moved into Springfield where she attended elementary schools and graduated from Springfield High School.

Diane began working as a telephone information operator for Ohio Bell at the age of 16. A few years later, she met Terry Morgan, also from Springfield. They married and had a son, Jim. In the mid-1970s, Diane and Terry moved to Phoenix, AZ. They made a lot of wonderful friends and were active in supporting Jim with extracurricular sports activities and making sure he kept his grades up in school. Diane joined USWEST and AT&T where she was able to retire after a total of 30+ years of service.

After retiring in 1992, Diane and Terry moved back to Springfield and enjoyed their time with childhood friends and family, especially with caring for their widowed mothers. In 2009, they moved to Tucson, AZ for full retirement. Diane enjoyed shuffleboard, bingo, pizza night with the neighbors, jigsaw puzzles, listening to 50s music, watching Jim’s dogs, and connecting with old friends. Mostly, she cared for Terry while he battled his health condition until he passed away in 2011. They had nearly 47 wonderful years together.

Diane spent her final years working on jigsaw puzzles, going on walks with family, watching her favorite TV show, Heartland, and listening to 50s music. She is survived by her son, James Morgan of Chandler, AZ, her brother and sister-in-law Richard and Marjorie Donahue of Springfield, OH, and her cousin, Marjorie Stouffer of Mt Morris, IL. A Celebration of the Life of Diane Morgan is planned for Chandler, AZ in February and Springfield, OH in March, dates to be determined. In lieu of flowers, you can honor Diane with a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
