Hi Mary Beth, even though we have lost track of each, we were so sad that Don is gone. The first NBA game I saw was when Don took me to the Bucks. I’m watching it tonight and it made me think of Don. I’m still in shock. I hope you are well, life is going fast, Great memories, Dan and Sue

My sincere condolences to you and your family. I met Don in 1976 when my dad, Bill, was the GM at Frascona Buick and worked for Tony with Don, Jimmy Basso, and more. I was 16 and the night receptionist for awhile. What a bunch those guys were! Like the Automotive Rat Pack, Tony, Jimmy, Don, and my dad. I got a great referral in Chandler a few years ago from Don down here, he was very helpful when I totaled my vehicle and needed automotive service. I’m very appreciative of the help he gave me. May his memory be eternal, and sending prayers for your healing during this time.

We were very saddened to hear of Don's passing.  Although we had not met in a while, Don remained a lifelong friend. We have fond memories through the years of Don in Milwaukee, his Road to Wrigley, trips to Minocqua and his love of sports. Don will be missed.  Our sincere condolences to you and the family.

It’s true when they say:  “some people are larger than life”.  That surely fits Donnie Brill. Having met him in 1970, I was lucky enough to know members of his family, including his Mother, sisters, and others.

While a number of us didn’t see as much of Donno, as we would have liked these last number of years, (that was Mary Beth’s doing n making him as happy and content, as we ever knew him to be), it never could diminish, his IMPACT, on our lives.
 To say he was special, way (good) different, one of a kind, is really an understatement. Being lucky enough to talk with him in Nov.2020, there was NO less spirit and focused resolve, as ever.
For those of us around MKE, Donnie belonged in the same breadth as Al McGuire and Rick Majerus, when it came came to genuine heart, spirit n soul. This ALL came with no pretentiousness or planning.
Donnie hit “walk off’s”, all the time with his personality and results.
Can’t wait to see you again as we round 3rd base, Donnie.

So sorry to hear about your loss MaryBeth.  Don was a huge part of the Basso clan and he will forever be remembered as a kind, thoughtful, man and was a sincere friend!  May you find comfort in all the lives he touched and the fond memories you and so many remember of him.

Don was like a second Dad to me growing up. He took me to multiple World Series and helped coached my baseball teams as a kid. Him and my Dad Jim worked together for 35 years and had a special bond. Don was a mentor to me when I first got into the car business and I have many fond memories.  I am so sorry for your loss Mary Beth and to all the rest of the family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

We had so many fun times with you Dono.
We go way back to Wisconsin at Frascona and our continued friendship as we moved to different parts of the country. You will be missed by so many and our deepest sympathy and prayers for strength for Mary Beth. 

We were shocked to hear of Don’s passing. Mary Beth you are in our prayers! Don was a fun loving person and he will be missed!  Always a gentleman and sports wizard! RIP 

We will miss Dono but remember him as a kind, funny  caring man. He was quite the character and we are honored to have known him and to call him our friend. RIP Dono!

When you lose a friend of almost 50 years it's like losing  family member, a brother. So many stories. So many memories. Echo Bowl, Wrigley, Minocqua. You will be missed Donno. If God wills it we will meet again someday and have a few and talk about it. Rest in peace my friend.

There is not enough space here, or anywhere, to share all the memories from my 40+ year friendship with Dono. I will just share that the last time I saw Don was here in Venice FL. We went to see "Sister Act" at the local theater. He laughed so hard and had such a good time. I'm glad that Janet and I had that experience. MB-you made Don so happy.  Janet and I hope your memories of good times will sustain through this unspeakably tough time. We send our love to you and all of your family.
