

Doris (Warner) Stranger was born to Alvin and Violet (Hartje) Warner on September 28, 1943 She grew up in Pembina, ND, and graduated from Pembina High School in 1961. She married Lynn Stranger on August 26, 1961. His careers in education and US Customs had them moving several times during their years together. they lived in Maryville, Edmore, Grand Forks, Churches Ferry, Pembina and Minot in North Dakota and also in Winnipeg, Manitoba, for nine years. She enjoyed curling in the winter and golfing during the summer months. Their love of golf and sunshine brought them to Arizona where they purchased a winter home at Sunbird Golf Resort in Chandler. Lynn passed away on March 6, 1997.
On November 1, 2003 Doris married Gerhard Wehr and they continued to live in Sunbird where they enjoyed golfing, getting together with friends, and welcoming family visitors to their home. It was during this time that she made five holes-in-one. They also enjoyed watching football games together. She was a "never give up" Minnesota Vikings fan and also followed the Minnesota Twins in baseball.
Doris is survived by her husband, Gerhard and his family; sons Scott (Lynette) Stranger, Farmington, MN, Steve Stranger, Eden Prairie, MN; and daughter Suzanne (Doug) Saur, Charleston, SC; grandchildren Sherri and Krista Stranger, Zane, Zoe, and Linzie Stranger, and Hailey and Jeremy Sauer; sisters Deanna Swanson, Warren, MN, Deborah (Doug) Vosper, Neche, ND; and brother Dennis Warner, Pembina, ND; and her nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her first husband Lynn, daughter Sherry Lynn Stranger, her parents, infant sister Sharron Warner, niece Tammy Swanson, and nephews Timothy Swanson and Jimmy Day.
