My beautiful mother chose Good Friday to leave us, slipping away quietly to join my dad, who had been her sweetheart since they were in 7th grade, & to be with my brother & the rest of the family.

She was an amazing woman...she shone alongside the brightest stars in the sky, and I have absolutely no doubt she’s already one of busiest angels in Heaven!

Everyone called her “Dossie” and she was like a supersonically charged whirlwind moving at the speed of light! 80 mph was driving slowly in her world, and Daddy used to say she was the only person on the planet who could make 7 minute icing in 3 minutes flat! He joked that you better stay out of her way or she’ll send you spinning!

She was a classically trained musician (we all were) & played concerts everywhere! Throughout her career, Dossie’s resume’ included being a much-loved teacher, an accompanist, and the Minister of Music at a number of churches mostly in the Philadelphia area, where she played piano, organ, harp, sang & conducted choirs. Now you get why I say she’s one of the Lord’s busiest angels already!? She’s only had a day & a half to prepare the heavenly choirs for their biggest Easter service yet!!!

My parents moved to Arizona in 1979, but it was hardly retirement! Dossie changed course & got her real estate license in 1985. She worked as a high powered realtor with several offices in Phoenix until they moved up to Camp Verde where they “retired” again but you guessed it, Dossie sold homes in Sedona well into her 80s & retired for real in 2009 when my dad died.

Dossie’s life has been 95 years bright & wonderful! She brought joy & was a blessing to all who met her. I’d say “Rest In Peace, Mother” if I thought she actually would, lol!! I’m kidding - I know she will, and she so deserves it! She’d been my best friend forever & I love her to pieces. She’s only been gone a day and I miss her already. I always will. She’s my Angel!!! ♥️💔♥️
