

Earl was born in Atoka, OK on January 5, 1937. Nick-named “Butch”, he spent much of his childhood in OK, hunting and fishing. He had fond memories from that time and was always proud to be an “Okie”. His family moved to CA when he was a teenager, eventually settling in Humboldt County. He graduated from Arcata High School and attended Humboldt State College. He was drafted into the army during peacetime and spent two years serving his country. After discharge, he returned to Humboldt county where he lived until retirement in 1997.
Earl began his work years employed by Belcher Title Company. The company was eventually acquired by Fidelity National Title and he managed the Humboldt County branch until his retirement. Earl met the love of his life, Grace (Wilkes) in 1959. They married in 1961 and soon began a family. After retirement, he followed his children to Southern California and settled in Fallbrook. Soon after, they bought a second home on a golf course in Thousand Palms, CA, and spent the next several years golfing with friends and enjoying family.
Earl and Grace relocated to Arizona in 2007 where he continued enjoying golf and found a new favorite pastime, watching his grandsons play football.
He is survived by his wife Grace, his daughter Pam (Young) and son-in-law Dirk of Gilbert, AZ; son Dean and daughter-in-law Rebekah Scott of Lake Forest, CA. Grandchildren Trevor Scott, Caitlyn Scott and her Fiancé Josh Stenslien of CA; Dylan Young and his fiancé Valerie Julian and Blake Young and wife Nicole of Gilbert,AZ. He also leaves behind two great grandchildren Chloe (2) and Carson (1) Young of Gilbert, AZ.
Earl was preceded in death by his father, Earl Henry Scott, and mother Alean Scott. His sunny disposition and positive outlook had him charming his care givers to the very end and He will be deeply missed!
