Betsy, Jim, Doug & I met as young parents in 1975. My friendship with Betsy was one of the most significant events in my life story. Betsy was a warm and ceaselessly loyal friend. She took care of her siblings , parents and never lost touch with her cousins. Beth, Jay, and Jimmy were the center of her world. I was sad when we lost touch a few years ago. I’m forever thankful to my Goddaughter Beth for including Amanda and I in her wedding. It gave me a final chance to re-connect with Betsy. Journey on sweet Betsy, always in my heart.

I hadn’t seen Betsy in several years. She and I were very close at one time in our lives. She worked for me and with me at Hemminger & Thomas in the ‘90s. I am so sorry for your loss. May you always remember the very best of times with your mother.

It broke my heart to learn that you are no longer here on this earth. I was shocked to read the condolences from your many friends and acquaintances.  I've missed seeing you at our PEO Meetings.  You always had that bit of spice that you added to our conversations.

The first time we ever met (I was visiting from out of town), she took me in immediately as family and her and Beth "kidnapped" me to grab lunch. The first time I called her mom instead of mother-in-law, she beamed for hours. I am so glad I had her in her my life and the life of my children. She was the best mother-in-law, taking care of me and the kids when I was too sick to, that I could have asked for. The only thing I wish is that we'd had more time. I love you Betsy.

Some  Richmond VA  friends gathered for  a casual lunch  on September 2nd  to honor  and remember Betsy .
 The consensus was that Betsy was  trusted,  loyal, reliable ,  kind and a beautiful friend.    She was also very capable on many levels and  a bundle of fun.  A mother to everyone.  She was special and will be greatly missed.

From our Thompson family to yours, 
We will miss sweet Betsy. We made quite some memories over the years and she always brought that smile and infectious laughter every time we were together. I keep hearing her southern accent in my head, I hope I never forget it. We are so very blessed to have had those moments we shared and life just won’t be the same without her. We may have been another Thompson crew but it felt as though we were family all these years. To Jim, Jay, Beth and family- We wish you peace, comfort, courage, and lots of love at this time.
