Ellen Prendergast

Ellen McPhillips Prendergast, 76 received her angel wings on September 13th in Chandler, Arizona. Ellen was born and raised in Yonkers, New York. Before retiring to Sun Lakes, Arizona 19 years ago, she raised four loving children in Mahopac, New York alongside her husband of 56 years, Richard Prendergast.

Ellen graduated Valedictorian from Blessed Sacrament Academy in Yonkers, NY and retired from Maryknoll Brothers and Sisters in Ossining, NY.

Ellen is survived by her childhood sweetheart, husband and best friend, Richard J. Prendergast; as well as her children, Kevin and Julie Prendergast; Susan and Greg Schussler; Brian Prendergast; and Keith Prendergast along with 12 adoring grandchildren and many close friends.

Ellen loved reading, world travel/cruising, cooking, and entertaining family and friends.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Ellen’s life at 9:00 am Friday, September 16th at Valley of the Sun Cemetery 10940 East Chandler Heights Road, Chandler, AZ.

In lieu of flowers, kindly honor Ellen by making a donation in her name to Hospice of the Valley/Dobson Home 1188 North Dobson Road Chandler, AZ 85244.
