Ellen Faye Roberts, 97, of Gilbert, Arizona, passed away on March 9, 2026. Born on November 11, 1928, in Ash Flat, Arkansas. Ellen was the compassionate, gentle, and honest daughter of Lucius V. and Fay Williams. Throughout her life, she was known as kind-hearted, patient, wise, faithful, and devoted to those she loved and to the values she held dear.
Ellen worked primarily as a homemaker, dedicating herself with steadfast care to her home and family. She carried forward the lessons and warmth of her early years, including her fond memories of growing up on a farm, and she brought that same steady spirit into the life she built.
On May 18, 1955, Ellen married Charles F. Roberts in Franklin, Arkansas. He preceded Ellen in passing on June 10, 2006. Their marriage was a lasting testament to commitment and devotion, and Ellen continued to honor that bond throughout her life.
Ellen found joy in the simple and meaningful comforts of everyday life. She loved to cook and sew for her family, and she also enjoyed gardening and painting—pursuits that reflected her gentle creativity and the care she took in nurturing both people and beauty around her.
Faith was central to Ellen’s life. She was very involved in her church, Gilbert Presbyterian Church, where her faithful presence and devoted service were a reflection of her enduring character.
Ellen is survived by her daughter, Melinda K. (Joseph) Caporossi; her son, Burke (Teri) Roberts; her granddaughters, Katherine (Ben) Wertz and Alex (Cameron) Hoover; and her two great-granddaughters, Kennedy and Madison.
Private services for Ellen will be held at a later date.
