Emogene T. Brown

July 11, 1932 – November 2, 2022
Obituary of Emogene T. Brown
IN THE CARE OF

Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery

Emogene T. Brown, age 90, formerly of Sun Lakes, Arizona, passed away at her daughter’s home in Andover, Massachusetts on November 2, 2022.

Emogene was born to Horace and Edna Thompson on July 11, 1932 in Hobson, Alabama. She met naval Ensign Stanford Brown at a USO dance in 1957. They were married for thirty-nine wonderful years before Stan died of cancer. They started their life together in Arizona, where their daughter Cynthia was born, and then moved to Rhode Island, where their daughter Rhonda was born. Emogene and her family moved next to Texas, then Kansas, Tennessee, and Missouri, before she and Stan came full circle and retired back in Arizona. Emogene was a full-time homemaker, who loved her daughters and her dogs, and enjoyed working in their huge vegetable garden during their years in Tennessee. Thanks to Stan’s career as a TWA pilot, the family enjoyed travel to many different countries over the years.

Emogene was preceded in death by her husband Stan and her beloved sisters, Bernice, Glendine, Kathleen, and Pauline. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Brown Clements and her husband Philip, of Chandler, Arizona, her daughter Rhonda Brown Novo and her husband Rich, of Andover, Massachusetts, and her beloved grandson David Stanford Novo.

In accordance with her expressed wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make donations to the Arizona Humane Society.
