Erik Nils Basilier

Erik Nils Basilier, 79, passed away on August 28, 2026. Born on April 7, 1947, in Töre, Sweden, Erik carried with him a steady sense of purpose throughout a life marked by devotion—to his family, his faith, and the work and interests that engaged his mind and heart. He was a resident of Chandler, Arizona.

Erik pursued advanced study with diligence and discipline, earning an MSc in Engineering and later a PhD in Physics. His professional life reflected that same commitment, including work at Uppsala University, a university research position in Texas, and roles at Motorola and Ticketmaster.

Above all, Erik was a devoted husband to his loving spouse, Shirley Lee. Together they shared 19 beautiful years of marriage, a bond grounded in constancy, care, and deep respect.

Erik found joy and meaning in a wide range of interests, including HAM Radio, photography, dancing, astronomy, shooting, and RV travel. He also valued fellowship and service through the HAM Radio Club and the True Jesus Church.

Erik is survived by his spouse, Shirley Lee; his sister, Eva Basilier; his brother, Karl Basilier; his nieces, Sara Basilier and Maria Basilier; and his nephew, Erik Basilier. He was predeceased by his parents, Anders Basilier and Anna Britta Basilier (Arvidsson).

A Memorial Mass Service will be held on September 9, 2026.

Urn Placement will take place at Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery, 10940 East Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, Arizona 85248, on September 10, 2026, at 9:00 am.
