Evangelina Lopez

“Evangelina Lopez, age 95 went to live with our Lord on October 31, 2018. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by family in San Tan Valley, Arizona. She was born on May 9th, 1923 in Los Angeles, California to Elena Carrera Zurita de López y Andres Lopez Cardenas. She is survived by six of her nine children Jesus Roberto, Juan, Soledad, Maria Celia, Evangelina, and Beatriz. She blessed 28 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren with her presence. “La Familia es Todo” she sacrificed everything for her family. Una mujer ejemplar. She was a hard worker and never gave up. A faith-filled pious woman of God; she drew strength, courage, wisdom, forgiveness and love from our Lord. She cared for all, she witnessed many historical events, and took great pride in helping the poor, desamparados, and immigrants. Ella era paz, gracia y dulce amor eterno. She was known for her dichos, independence, cooking, knitting, reading, and sweet, quiet, mild manner. “Ella nos saco adelante. Empezo con los hijos y seguio con los nietos y bisnietos”. She was a saint, our rock, and beloved by all.

Dona Eva, Nina, Abuela, Ama, y mi Viejita now goes to join her parents Elenita y Andres, her brothers Jesus y Benjamin, her children Benjamin, Andres, Benjamin, grandchild Elena, and great grandchild Noah, whom she all loved so tenderly.

Though she has left this earth, her legacy, smile, and gentle spirit will live on in our hearts. A Visitation to celebrate her life will take place at Valley of the Sun Mortuary in Chandler, Arizona on 10940 East Chandler Heights Rd

Chandler, AZ 85248, November 4, 2018 from 4pm-8pm.

A mass in her honor will take place at St. Anne’s Catholic Church on 440 E. Elliot Rd., Gilbert, Arizona 85234, November 5, 2018 at 10am.
