Felice Joseph Di Pasquale, Jr., who resided in his home for 51 years in Emerson, NJ, and lived out the end of his life in Chandler, AZ, finally lost his battle with lung cancer and passed away peacefully in our home on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, with his wife and granddaughters by his side. Felice, who was known as Phil, and his most used nickname, Guido, was born in Manhattan, NY on December 9, 1943. He was married to his wife Rosanne in Brooklyn, NY on September 3, 1967, and were both so blessed to have been able to celebrate their last anniversary together of 55 years. Phil owned floor-covering businesses throughout his career starting with Floor Designs I in Palisades Park, NJ, Floor Designs II in Ramsey, NJ, Floor Designs in West New York, and ultimately opened Floors Beautiful in his hometown of Emerson, NJ, which was a fixture on Kinderkamack Road for many years before retiring in 2006. Phil's next true love after his own family was his extended family at the Emerson Fire Department, where his best friends and brothers shared an incredible bond of love and loyalty. This is where he received his nickname, Guido, which truly encompassed who he was. Guido was a lifetime member of 50 years and genuinely gave him his purpose, passion, and love for life helping and saving others and doing it alongside the men and women he loved. If Guido wasn't at the fire department, every day for Happy Hour after work or putting out fires, you found him consumed with his other passions, bowling, and fishing. Phil was on many, many leagues throughout his years, earning multiple 300-perfect games, and was immensely proud of wearing and showing off his awards of rings and watches, and his 300-pins. If Phil wasn't in either of those two places, he was down the shore, enjoying his beautiful home on the water, fishing on his boat or his brother's. They thought they had everyone fooled that they were the greatest of fishermen, but we all knew it was any excuse to be on the water, trying to be real fishermen and to just get away for some peace from the wives! Phil and Rosanne had such pride in their shore house they owned in Beach Haven West as they took it apart from top to bottom, inside and out, mostly by themselves, and built a beautiful home for all of us to make the most ahhhmazing memories in. And the memories we all made in 21 years have been nothing short of some of our most cherished. It was his and Rosanne's dream, and they were so blessed to have lived it for all those years and enjoyed sharing it with all of their family and friends. Phil is survived by his beloved wife, Rosanne, his only daughter, Lisa Louise, and his beautiful grandchildren, Alexa Anne, Thomas Patrick, III, and Briana Felice Angelina whom he absolutely loved and adored. He is also survived by his loving sister-in-law, Louise Lucivero, and her children, Matthew James, and Jessica Ann, his nephew Michael Di Pasquale, and his nephews and nieces, Damien Di Pasquale, his wife, Maribel, and their four children, Santino, Bianca, Ava, and Isabel. Phil was the last to survive of his siblings, Tiffany, Benny, and Ida, and his identical twin, Anthony whom he loved unconditionally. Phil loved his mother and father, Catherine and Felice immensely, and is now resting peacefully for eternity with them all. Phil held on longer than any doctor predicted because of his undying and unconditional love for Rosanne. He constantly would say he couldn't leave her. They were a wonderful team, through thick and thin, the most difficult and greatest of times, and their love never wavered, and their bond never will.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a wake to be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 5-9pm with a eulogy given at 6pm and Fireman Ceremony at 7pm at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd, Westwood, NJH 07675. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 8:45 AM at Becker Funeral Home for a procession as we follow dad for his last ride on the firetruck passing his store, the firehouse, and his home to say his final goodbyes with him and leading us to Assumption Church in Emerson for his 9:30 AM service. A Repass will follow the church service at 11 AM at Iron Horse, 20 Washington Ave Westwood, NJ 07675.
In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate donations to the American Cancer Society in Phil Di Pasquale's name for cancer research so we can keep working towards helping others fight their battles.
